Hi fellow Peopleians. Have you ever stopped to think about what makes each of us unique? What are the threads that weave together to create our individual personalities? I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately, and today, I want to share a little bit about what makes me different.
You might see me at school, maybe even think you already know me. But there’s more to me than meets the eye. For starters, I’m a martial artist. Not just any martial artist – a competitive martial artist. And I’m proud to say that all those hours of training, all that dedication, resulted in taking 3 first place medals in my last competition. It wasn’t easy. It required discipline, focus, and a whole lot of sweat. But the feeling of accomplishment? Absolutely divine. Kung Fu isn’t just about physical strength; it’s about pushing yourself beyond your limits.
But my life isn’t all about flying kicks and iron fists. I have another passion, one that allows me to express a completely different side of myself: acting. The stage is my canvas, and characters are my colors. I love the challenge of pretending to be someone else, of exploring different emotions and perspectives. I’ve had the privilege of being involved in 5 plays so far, each one a unique experience. And getting those roles wasn’t always easy. There once was an audition for a professional acting class. 500 people tried out, and only 50 were chosen – I was incredibly proud to be one of them. From the nervous excitement backstage to the last bow, the world of theatre has taught me the importance of empathy and the power of storytelling.
And speaking of expressing myself creatively, I have another talent: painting. I’ve poured my heart and soul into over 1,2,3 so many I lost count! each one a journey of exploration and self-discovery. I draw and paint landscapes that capture the beauty of the world around me that reflect my inner thoughts and emotions. Painting allows me to communicate in a way that words sometimes can’t.
These seemingly important parts of my life – martial arts, acting, and painting – make me who I am today. They all require patience, focus, and a desire to push myself beyond my comfort zone. And they all teach me valuable lessons that I can apply to all aspects of my life. Thank you Peopleians. If you have a better name for yourself, please contact me.
