“WOAH! I’VE IMPROVED A LOT IN SCIENCE! SO MUCH THAT IT IS MY HIGHEST GRADE!”
Yes, this is me screaming at my mom, telling her to put me in the Science Olympiad. You might be wondering, “Why do you want to join?” Well, it’s because I love science. I’m really good at it now, and I know I have what it takes to do well in the Science Olympiad.
First, I’ve always been curious about how things work. When I was younger, I would ask my parents a million questions about everything. “Why is the sky blue?” and “How does a plant grow?” Now that I’m in 5th grade, I’ve started to really understand some of those things. I’ve been learning about animals, ecosystems, energy, and even puberty (ewwww)! Science has become my highest grade, and I’m so proud of it. This makes me feel like I’m ready for a bigger challenge, like the Science Olympiad, where I can test all the things I’ve learned in a competitive way.
Another reason I’m ready is because I’m a good problem solver. In class, we’ve had some tricky assignments where I had to think hard and come up with creative solutions. Like, when we were learning about landslides, we had to find a way to protect a village. It was tough at first, but after trying a few different ideas, I finally didn’t knock a building over! I think the Science Olympiad will have a lot of cool challenges like that, and I know I can use my problem-solving skills to succeed.
Finally, teamwork is also a big part of the Science Olympiad, and I’m a people pleaser. I love working with my friends on group projects, whether it’s a poster or a class presentation. I know that sometimes things don’t always go as planned, but I’m still good at listening to others, sharing ideas, and helping when someone needs it. In the Science Olympiad, I know that I’ll have to work with teammates to solve problems together, and I’m excited to share ideas and work as a team to win!
In conclusion, I am definitely ready to join the Science Olympiad. I’ve worked hard to improve my science skills, I love solving problems, and I’m great at working with others. I’m excited to challenge myself and see what I can accomplish. So, watch out Science Olympiad. I’m coming!
