Since I was 3 I’ve asked for a dog. On my 8th birthday I got what I wished for. After begging to my parents saying that I was the only child and I needed a companion my parents finally were convinced. They bought a beige dog and planned to name her Minty, they wanted it to start with a M because all my family members names start with M. Once we picked her up, we found out her was Melody. We thought Melody was a better name so we kept her name Melody. On that day, we also picked up my new best friend.

Melody came with a lot of advantages. My mom and I used to exercise on a treadmill in our garage but now we can walk outside and get fresh air. I got her in the summer so I had to take responsibility over her. This lead to skill development like maturity. She is also the best of the best friend. She is so emotionally attached to me. Probably because I give her treats. She also may be tiny but she is very mighty.

She barks at any intruders, even if we are the intruders. She also helps us with my mom’s YouTube channel. I show her aggressiveness and love to the viewers. I also show her craziness, scratching her butt every second. She doesn’t pay attention to the camera, but she still gets the most views.

I love Melody. She’s weird and cute at the same time. She may not be perfect, but she is my dog and I love her the way she is. Thank you for listening.
